City of St. Charles Homeownership Programs

The City of St. Charles serves the well-being of the residents and businesses through maintaining and enhancing the quality of our existing development to ensure Saint Charles is a place we can all take pride in. St. Charles believes there are many benefits of homeownership. Some of the benefits include; improving neighborhoods, building wealth, providing tax benefits and creating positive environments for families.

Through the Homeownership Assistance Program, qualified home buyers may receive down payment assistance of up to $10,000. Prospective clients must meet the 80% or below of the area median income levels established by HUD and must complete a HUD certified housing counseling training program. The City also receives CDBG funding through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban which is used for the Home Improvement Loan Program. The Home Improvement Loan Program provides low-interest/no interest loans to low and moderate income City residents for qualified home repairs.
