The HOME St. Charles Down Payment and Closing Costs Assistance Program provides an excellent opportunity for low to moderate-income families and individuals to become homeowners. The concept of the program is simple. HOME St. Charles will make up to $10,000 available to assist qualifying households in covering down payment and closing costs. Homebuyers who have the resources to pay a part of the down payment will be required to do so.

Basic eligibility include:

• Household income no higher than 80% of the area median income
• Household must not own any other residential real estate
• Purchasers must live in the property as a permanent residence
• The property cannot be rented
• The property must be in unincorporated St. Charles County ($10,000) or the Saratoga development in Lake Saint Louis ($7,500)
